Branding and product labels for Community Honey. The EDCC Biology department wanted to start selling honey and other bee’s wax based products that come from their yearly harvest. (Typically 150 – 300 jars per year) When it came to designing the logo, they knew they wanted to include an octagon because of it’s association with both Bee’s & chemical compound notation. They also really liked the hexagonal containers, which meant the brand name would likely be displayed sideways. To compliment the unusual shape, “Community Honey” was designed as an ambigram, so it will read the same upside down, as downside up. The product was well received, and all inventory was sold within a few hours.
Garner Construction LLC specializes in providing crane operators for high rise construction operations. They wanted to update their logo, but still retain the complex tower crane imagery. After exploring several creative directions, we settled on the more dynamic and simplified tower crane illustration.
The E.F. Bailey Company is medium-sized industrial distributor based out of Seattle, primarily servicing the metalworking and AeroSpace industry. With the 2012 Line Card, we were able to establish a stronger brand identity by incorporating the layout from earlier line cards, while updating the look with a more masculine color theme and unique imagery. The tangled web of polygons alludes to the inherent complexity of the distribution industry, (as well as implying a multitude of boxes) while the EFB logo stands alone, simplified and above the complexity.
Promotional material for the Edmonds Community College Visual Communications department Alumni Night. Posters, flyers, and monitor adverts. With this campaign I was looking for a simple visual that personifies the cyclical nature of the Alumni graduate professional relationship.
This was purely a typographic exercise - inspired by classic rock posters. I'd just gotten a copy of The Art of Modern Rock, and I wanted to try out a few things. The illustrations of BC Coop inspired the simple and clean line work. As most rock posters were silk screened, I thought 2 color would best emulate the classic style.

This shirt was designed for the Studio City SugarTits, a team in the Los Angeles DodgeBall Society. The team was started by the hair stylists at Floyd’s Barbershop in Studio City, and played for two seasons in 2009. I was the proud captain for our second season. Sadly, we had the worst record in the league. On the upside, we were clearly the best dressed.
