Web Application Development ATA Program

My pursuit of this degree actually began in Spring of 2011, when I took my first two classes in Computer Information Systems (CIS) department. The next four quarters were dedicated to website development and related classes (most required for the degree program). While there were often difficult times trying to juggle personal issues or work schedules, I truly enjoyed every moment of learning. Here is a basic rundown of the courses I completed on this latest academic journey*:

Spring 2011:

  • CIS 250: Database Theory and Design
  • CIS 253: Application Development

Summer 2011:

  • BSTEC 110: Business Communications
  • CIS 241: Introduction to XHTML (Web I)
  • MGMT 270: Project Management I

Fall 2011:

  • CIS 233: Systems Analysis
  • CIS 251: Introduction to SQL
  • CIS 260: Introduction to XML

Winter 2012:

  • CIS 242: Introduction to Java Script (Web II)
  • CIS 244: Introduction to SEO (Web IV)
  • MGMT 100: Human Relations

Spring 2012:

  • CIS 116: Electronic Portfolio**
  • CIS 234: System Design and Development
  • CIS 243: Introduction to PHP (Web III)
  • CS 290: Software Testing

Work Samples

On each course page, the icons and titles in the right-hand column are all clickable links that will bring up the selected document in a new tab or window. These work samples replace the miscellaneous links available for the main pages. All documents are in PDF format, and thus require you to have a PDF reader. If you don't have one, you may download one by clicking the following link:

PDF Reader

Some of the work samples are other file types. In this case, you should get a Save As pop-up or download window. You will need to save the file and then reopen it from your own machine in order to view the work sample.

Course Navigation

While within the Course Pages, you may have noticed that some of the navigation options are different. For site navigation, only going to the Home page or returning to this Course Studies page will be available. In the Links column to the left are the list of CIS course numbers. Clicking a link will take you to that course page.

*   Only CIS specific classes are provided course links at this time.
** CIS 116 does not have a link because this website is the portfolio.
