The SEO portion of this class was a real eye-opener. The world of SEO was so much simpler back in the early 2000s. Now, you have to not only know what to do to boost your search rankings, you have to know how to do it so that the dominant search engine providers don't flag you and omit your site entirely. Fascinating...!
The next half of the course focused on studying content management systems and actually working on a Joomal site with a custom template. There's a big difference in being a casual user of a CMS and being a developer on a CMS. This was a rich learning experience and I am confident I could help any company with any CMS after this experience. All sample documents are in PDF format; web pages are, well, web pages. Grade: 4.0
CMS Open Source Essay. (opens a new tab/window) This is an old course description and omits the study of content management systems (CMS) in the newest courses. This essay is my study of three open source content management systems. About 50% of the course covered SEO and the other 50% was spent on studying CMS and creating a CMS (using Joomla).
Final Project Part 4 - Joomla Content and Modules (opens a new tab/window). This is simply a screenshot of the my Joomla site. This was sent to the instructor to let her know I was ready for her to grade my Jommla site. The Joomla site apparently is no longer available. However, I have the soruce code and can show it to on a laptop.
