WampServer / Apache Web Server - Popcorn Sales Webpage

XML / Cloud / Database Development

In this course we used JSON, AJAX, SQL, PHP, and XML to develop, update, query, and display, in a HTML format, information from database records using software such as mySQL and WampServer.

Using commands such as XMLHttpRequest in our Javascript code, we retrieved information from a database that we had installed on our client-side computers but ran them as a database server.

The skills and experience we gained in this course was invaluable to us as we progress as Web Application and Cloud Developers.

My Summary of Introduction to XML, CIS 260

In my web design and development, self-teaching days, I always shied away from server-side programing thinking I wasn't savvy enough to be working on databases and servers. I fell in LOVE with Structured Query Language, SQL, and writing the code to work on information and records stored in databases. I look forward to my continued education and experience with Relational Databases and now the growing trend toward “Big Data”!
