What I Learned:
Like the CSS class, this has been one of my favorite courses at EdCC. The instructor made the subject interesting and fun, and I've come to realize how central the Project Management skill set is to the successful progression and completion of a web development project.
I also had the opportunity to dramatically expand my Project Management skill set through the development of a 'hands on', real world project. I had previously led several small group projects as part of the coursework in some of my other classes. The project in this class was a class-wide project involving approximately 35 students, broken into five teams. The focus of the project was to generate a developmental proposal for the Edmonds Senior Center Thrift Shop.
I lead the 'Integration' Team that coordinated the project and I designed many of the critical components of this proposal. In this project, I essentially functioned as the Project Lead. This project built upon my prior experience leading small team projects, and I'm very proud of the fact that we were able to generate a professional 50-page document in less than six weeks for delivery to the ESC management. (The complete proposal is available via the link below.)
