CIS 241 - Web Development I
Fall, 2012 - 5.0 Credits
Course Overview:
Internet and intranet Web site development using XHTML approached from a source code perspective. Covers tags, forms, linked objects, CSS, frames, tables, and introduction to the use of scripting. Students build multi-page Web sites.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Perform content and technical analysis on web applications and websites.
- Use XHTML to develop, debug, maintain and document web applications and websites.
- Implement standardized application / site design.
- Compare and contrast different browser’s effects on XHTML documents.
- Use the basic principles of Web documents.
- Control the appearance of a Web Page through the use of XHTML tables.
- Create a website with frames.
- Use XHTML forms.
- Create XHTML style through inline, embedded and Cascading Style Sheets.

What I Learned:
Having prior experience designing and building a few websites, this was an excellent refresher course for me. However, it was also provided a great opportunity to begin to explore web development technologies like CSS & XML. The projects and personal website development was an excellent way to pull it all together!
