Biotite can vary in size and could potentially weigh up to several hundred pounds. Thin sheets can be peeled off as layers, and the thinner a layer is peeled the greater its tranparency becomes. Biotite can absorb water internally if its exposed to water on its outside layer which could pontentially break down the structure and tear apart.
