Final Thoughts:

My Reflections:

Scroll down to take a look at closing thoughs on some of my classes.

Courses Taken:Credits:Course Reflections:
CS 115 Intro to Progamming5This was my first real look at coding and to be honest I was a bit nervous because I thought it could be very hard to understand. However, after a few weeks and some google searches I soon began to understand how it worked. I could not have had a better introductory course for this material.
ART 225 Graphic Design5This course I honestly expected to get more out of. It is an introductory course and I did learn a great deal about Adobe software however I would have liked to learn more about the different elements of graphic design. I have since reviewed the text and supplemented this course on my own time and am very glad to have done so.
CIS 100 Intro to Business Computing5 This class was fun and interactive. Most of the material was essentially a review for me on Microsoft Office software however, I had never used Access before and that was a good thing to learn. Great introductory course.
MGMT 100 Human Relations in Organizations5 This class has proved to be extremely valuable in many ways. We learned about leadership skills, managing work stress, interpersonal (soft) skills, and teambuilding techniques. I would highly recommend this class for any professional certification and/or degree. This was easily one of my favorite classes.
MGMT 270 Project Managment I5 Project Management is a field that I did not understand the need for at first as it relates to coding. But I quickly changed my mind after the first few weeks. I learned how imperative it is to be able to plan and execute a project (physical or digital) from start to finish. From my perspective this class taught me to organize and systematically execute any big endeavor. This applies to everything from the building of a website to the building of a dam. Great class.
CIS 251 Structured Query Language (SQL)5 SQL is an important part of web development. I will admit that it was not my favorite class but that was only due to the course content. The instructor was engaging and informative. Learning how to build and use a database is an industry standard and should be included in any course load in the IT industry. I am very happy to have taken the class.
CIS 241 Web Development I5 This course was defiantly my favorite this quarter. I am most interested in the topic and learned a great deal both from the content and my own searches. At times I had to focus on other classes which I did not like very much because it seemed like I had to learn a lot of information very fast toward the end of the quarter. I learned a great deal about html and css and I know that my future sites will be better and smoother to create. In closing I would like to offer advice for future students. And this is try to develop a passion for learning html and css outside of class. This will help amazingly in your studies..
CIS 242 Web Development II Javascript5 This class was essentially the backbone and foundation of most of my coding education. Javascript is probably the most popular computer language today and is an industry standard. I enjoyed this class because not only was the teacher amazing but the course was set up to perfectly and easily teach this subject.
CIS 244 Web IV Joomla and SEO5 I really enjoyed this course. I may or may not have ever dabbled in Joomla on my own but I am glad I did. The instructor was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable in the course material. I learned all about search engine optimization and how to create a dynamic and visually pleasing Joomla site. I believe it is an amazing medium for creating a personal or business website as it allows most people to learn and use it.
CIS 245 Web V Introduction to CSS5 This course represents my favorite class of my whole degree by far. CSS is all about designing a visually appealing website. The instruction was top notch and I enjoyed the artistic liberties that it encourages. I have never been great at traditional art however this medium allowed me to express what I wanted perfectly every time. Amazing course and a necessity for any certification or degree in web development.
